What is CPLD
CPLD is a low-level firmware, on a chip, that CruzOC can upgrade on OS6/OS10 and on servers.
Enable CPLD
CPLD updates are performed using the CPLD task “Upgrade CPLD for N-Series” from the Actions portlet.
Ensure that the bootcode is updated to the latest firmware version before issuing CPLD updates.
Models to be tested in stacked and standalone configurations:
- N20XX
- N21XX
- N30XX
- N31XX
- N40XX
- N15XX
Conditions required to proceed with CPLD upgrade
- STACKED SWITCHES: The firmware version in the active and backup partition must be 6.5.2.
- STANDALONE SWITCH: 6.5.1 and above
- If in a stacked configuration, all of the units in the stack must be the same series.
Behavior in a stacked configuration
- Upgrade the master.
- Configure the next unit as standby and failover to the standby unit.
- Once the switch is backed up with the new master, Upgrade CPLD.
- Go to Step (2) until all units in the stack are upgraded or if an error is encountered.
Enable CPLD Action
The CPLD Actions will not appear upon a search unless you have an active CPLD license. Need a License? Email Sales
- Automation/Actions > Actions Tab > search for "cpld" > right-click > execute
If there is an error/exception while upgrading the stack units, the process will terminate.
Executing the task once again on the same switch, will ignore the units with the latest CPLD and will try to upgrade only the units that have not been upgraded yet.
