Cruz Fabric Controller

The Cruz Fabric Controller has undergone significant updates in functionality as well as change in the UI. Please refer the 10.0.5 Fabric guide for additional details.  Significant changes include:

PV-72631 Allow the user to specifically name the fabric member, instead of the Leaf 1a / Leaf 1b notions and or Spine 1 / Spine 2
Required to support the variations needed for campus - ie Core/Aggregation/Access

PV- 72628 Support NAC/802.1x deployments where CRUZ is not involved in the host access configuration but the switch needs the member level VTEP configuration in the switch, ie. VLAN

PV-72624 Cruz now support campus Fabrics. Refer to the Fabric Guide for details
PV-72516 Created Fabrics "fabric controllers" need to appear as a resource group in Hierarchical View.
Default hierarchical view has been added to the template - if present any network configurations created from the template will be added to that hierarchical node automatically. Nodes will also be refreshed automatically anytime the fabric is saved
Refer to the fabric Guide for details.

PV-=72478 Relabel messages for consistency
L3 Tenant -> L3 VRF
Server Template -> Server Access Template

PV-72451 Fabric Tenant - Segmentation Strategy: Needs to support Vlan Ranges by default to hide the QnQ future strategy
PV-72310 Support multiple independent connections between Spine and Leaf

RN /DOC see master fabric ticket PV-72285
PV-72309 Relabel Host Access Policies to Overlay Access Policies72285
PV-72298 In overlay port group - hide Layer 3 configuration option. This option was introduced for future use and may have been exposed in an earlier version,
PV-72297 Add in validation for QnQ/do1q-tunneling targets - server must be owned not shared via access tags
PV-72296 Allow for editing segmentation strategy within a fabric tenant record if not yet in use.
If a Host Access Policy or Routing Service exists against the tenant then changing the segmentation strategy should be allowed
Otherwise we should be able to swap the strategy
PV-72285 Various Fabric Enhancements
    • MSP / Application Multitenancy  - There are a number of changes  to menu options to make sure they show up in the correct sites.
    • Relabeling to include tagged and untagged
    • Ability to reconcile ports from a rack portlet

    • When listing Host Access Polices on a server need to note when only on Leaf or Only on Peer

Resolved defects

PV-72572 Fabrics - Applying overlay access groups to a server profile or server access profile group fails due to missing switch port mode
PV-72560 Fabrics - Deleting staged overlay access policy fails to clean up the vtep member configurations from with the model
PV-72559 Fabric - VTEP Member configs not allocating VNIP when overlay type is an L3_VLAN/L3_VxLAN
PV-72543 Fabrics - removing vtep member configuration incorrectly due to new routing services
PV-72382 A benign Null Pointer exception was observed when decommissioning fabric
PV-72307 Fabric Tenant - VLAN Range validation incorrect - not ignoring the QnQ segmentation tenants
PV-73063 Managed Config (dellemcsonic): Implement support for BGPPeerGroup Settings - Getting hibernate exception when global resync
PV-73079 Managed Config (dellemcsonic): Implement support for SysLogCOnfig
PV-72592  Prefix list entry does not support 0.0.0.0/0
PV-72592  Route Map Entries - edits incorrect when participating in a template - some options are hidden (IPv4/IPv6 Prefix List, Ipv4/IPv6 access list, call map,
PV-72592  Vlan settings - allowing 0 mtu
PV-72591 Managed Config - creating template from existing configuration record creates incorrect values within the newly created template
PV-72510 Managed Config - VLAN Settings requires DHCP Server
PV-73062 Managed Config (dellemcsonic): Implement support for MCLag - Null when global resync
PV-72982 Managed Config (dellemcsonic): SFlow Collector Resync not reflecting records

PV-72979 Access Profile - Port Group: incorrect port label when editing
PV-72921 Context issues within the GUI
PV-72627 Fabric - Support access profile with a single leaf
PV-72593 Managed Configuration Templates - allow user to alter the templates default value for an attribute
PV-72465 Prevent spine resource from being deleted when it is part of a fabric
PV-72322 Context changes are not respecting current page -  The resolved issue relates to how portlets on a different pages were responding to the same context change. For example - if you had multiple pages with Managed Resources and Ports on them, with the ports being driven by the resource selection, then all of the ports portlets would get updated even though the context change should have been specific to that page.
HD-1182674 Avaya Driver - unable to deploy N3248P-ON
HD-1182629 Event definition save is not working
HD-1182625 Saved Topology View with managed resources is not loading and throws error in the Application server logs - unexpected end of subtree

PV-70151 Sonic -Dell: Ethernet links are not discovered
HD-457189 Network Topology View - remove the refresh indicator/Status  icon

Known issues

This section list  significant known issues that may impact operations

  • The Map Context application that provides a google map and tagged locations, may not show a visible tag. There may be changes from Google that affect the way the API  behaves in Cruz. this will be resolve in the next release or a patch may be available when resolved, Please contact tsc@dordosoftware  (PV-72061)

Beta Features

This Section describes features that are exposed in this version but are still under development.

Automation Approval:
Cruz 10.0.5 contains a Beta feature to allow an automation approval workflow. This feature allows you to set an action in an Event Processing Rule to "require approval".  The  record in the "Automation Action Instances" portlet will list  the Event Processing Rule (EPR) associated to the action,  the event that triggered the rule, the action target and actions status. When "Approval Required" is set in an EPR and the EPR automation has been triggered, an  action instance (a record)  will show up in a new portlet called "Automation Action Instances".  The pending action can then be approved to execute immediately or scheduled for a later time.
In 10.0.5,  this feature is exposed in the EPRs with  2 additional tabs/options for each added automation "Action" (Mapped Context Properties and Advanced Properties).  The Advanced Properties option is where "Approval Required" may be selected.  New or pre-existing EPR default behavior is unaffected assuming there are no changes made in either of these 2 new tabs.
NOTE: The new "Automation Action Instances" portlet requires additional licensing in order to be fully utilized.  In 10.0.5, if  an EPR is set to "Require Approval" and you do not have the appropriate license, you will not be able to access the record to approve and the automation will not complete.
There are a few known issues primarily surrounding cosmetic issues in the UI as well as additional missing features that are intended for the final feature release. If interested in learning more about this feature, please contact support or your sales rep. GA release of this feature is expected in the 10.0.6 release.
